My new Life

Driving to and from the kids school and activities, sitting in long traffic ques - this is my new life! To survive I just bought myself a thermo coffee mug, plugged in the mini-dvd player in the car for the kids and were set to spend hours in the car, just need some mp3 books to listen to, too. So much for improved life quality in a paradise island in the Carrabien! I'm not despairing yet 'cause I think it will go quicker and calm down once I can find my way around, take shortcuts and thruways and get all the school and activity schedules figured and sorted out. Gotto think positiv.

Settling in in Barbados

Almost a week in Barbados, the jetlag has almost worn off - for a change I have been able to wake up bright and breezy in the early morning hours, something that just does not happen to me under normal circumstances!

This past week has been way busy trying to get life sorted out again - finding schools, transport, food, opening bank accounts, bla bla bla. We have come a bit on the way, chosen one of two schools God only knows if it was the right one but it felt right, bought school uniform and textbooks, pens, paints, more books etc etc etc..., today we ordered 2 new 4wd cars - amazing feeling to order a new car each!, it will take awhile to get them though so, so long we brave the potholes and floods with our little rental car.

Travels continued...

We have arrived safely in Barbados after a long trip lasting about 38 HOURS door to door, give me a bed NOW!!! The trip went very well, thank God, the kids enjoy travelling and that the plane motors make them fall in to a heavy sleep almost instantly. Although it was a bit of a drag waiting 5 hrs inAbu Dabi and 5 hrs at Gatwich Airports.

Farewell to Jordan

The serious countdown of our days in Jordan is here, still hard to grasp - thats why Im blogging when I should be packing or fixing a farewell party. In less than a week we will be in our new destination (and I write this with bubbling excitement), BARBADOS! It is truly an exciting thought to be going to the Carrabien to LIVE!

... even though we have a new and exciting adventure ahead, it is so SAD to leave our friends and Al-Aqaba! These three years in Jordan have been fantastic, we have experienced so much, learnt so much, met wonderfully great fantastic people and been to some awesome places. JORDAN we will miss you and see you again, Inshalla!
